A stalking threat?

It's been 30 years since China found a formal relationship with the U.S and the rest of the world. The new rising power in East Asia has left the world with questions alongside with astonishments. Is it a "peaceful power"? The world has been suffering wars and tortures as great powers rise. The Empire of Great Britain was found on the foundation of massive conlonization and exploit on African slaves. As for the Americans, they took the world leader's title from Britain by selling weapons to Europe and made a fortune by doing this. Although America didn't invade other countries and exploit workforce, the rise of America is still deeply related to wars (WWI and WWII). Thus, whether China's rise is going to bring the world war is the main doubt of the world.

But for me, China's rise will not threat the world and bring in any security issue. Mostly it's because of the time we are experiencing right now. When new super power shows up, it's always during a massive technological innovation. For Bristain it was the Industrial Revolution, and for America, they experienced the Thrid Technological change. Great coutries rise at those moments because all the countries are starting freash; they are all new to this technology and the advantage of the old great power doesn't seem that obvious. But now at our time, we are not having any of those inoovation powerful enough to change the world's power structure.

Besides, China doesn't have the intentin of dominating the world as well. If we check the history of China we will find out that China has never invaded another country before. So we can assume that China's rise is peaceful because of its cultrual background. This character of civilization is solide and hard to change. Therefore, the development taking place in China really should not be feared and demonized. On the other hand, we should go and embrace this new ember of the world's stage for it's being the engine of world's development.
